Reverend Dr. Deborah M. Akanbi
Professor of Christian Spirituality
Reverend Dr. Deborah M. Akanbi has been appointed as Professor of Christian Spirituality, a role that honors her lifelong commitment to the inner life, holistic discipleship, and spiritual formation.
With doctorates in Divinity (DD) and Philosophy (PhD), Professor Akanbi is a seasoned theologian, prayer warrior, and spiritual director whose ministry spans over two decades of equipping souls in the journey toward Christlikeness
Her teaching explores spiritual disciplines, Pentecostal spirituality, and the theology of divine intimacy. Known for her depth of wisdom, prophetic insight, and theological precision, she cultivates spiritual maturity in her students and fosters environments of worship, silence, and reflection. She believes that true leadership must emerge from the wellspring of communion with God.
Her appointment reflects Testament Theological Seminary’s deepening commitment to integrating theology and spirituality, where academic pursuit is not divorced from spiritual transformation.
